Staff Picks: TV Edition - Small Achievable Goals
If you like this tv show... you might like that!
I LOVE great stories, but I fucking HATE reviews. They mostly bore me.
But, give me a solid recommendation, based on what you’ve loved in the past, and I’m yours. 📚 🍿 📺 💗
At video stores independent bookshops, I always scan staff favourites to find my kindred book-spirit (LOOK! - we both love Sandwich by Catherine Newman AND Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy by Douglas Adams). Then, I hunt out their other recommendations, and buy one of their suggestions.
I am never disappointed.
Thank you booksellers 🏆
Consider this my virtual video store, independent bookshop and LiveJournal TV blog.
Hey tv nerds1
I’ve been happily spending 22 minute tv bursts with midlife work gals, Kris and Julie; Two perimenopausal women trying to produce a podcast.
The show is called, “Small Achievable Goals” and it’s a fucking balm for my weary mind. Instead of raging around the kitchen because the garbage is beyond full and somehow it’s waiting for me and only me to take it out, I watch this show.
I laugh, snigger and feel very seen!

If those float your perimenopausal boat, go watch “Small Achievable Goals.” I’m proud to say it’s a CBC production. 🇨🇦
Avoiding Revision Five Of Your Novel Much?
Of course I’m posting a new pick since I’m madly/avoiding working on Revision 5 of my speculative fiction debut.
Honestly, Saved By The Spell Light does give me a break from my deep revision and I have an excuse to read on my front patio where my family can’t see me out the window, or watch tv in bed with a bar of Whittakers Coconut and a joint.
The fucking book journey (WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE A JOURNEY OR FUCKING LESSON!) is going well some days. Those days I close my laptop and think, damn, you did some okay writing today. Others I rage-scream because I’m the worst writer in the world and why the fuck did I possibly think I could write a book! No one’s going to read it, so why bother?
It really is a fucking journey!
With love and avoidance binging from my bed,
Annabel xoxo

I’m using nerds in the best possible way. Nerdship: How we love a thing with such veracity that we annoy others, and then one magical day we find other people who feel the same way about the thing we love. That is nerdship.
